UNIVISION CHANGES...

LA BRONCA (PM DRIVE SHOW IS OUT)
RUMORS HAVE IT THAT CHANGES TO THE MORNING SHOW ARE COMING SOON.
Has Televisa started with the changes?
The radio division is run by the same people as have been there for many years.

Televisa in Mexico has had no radio division for more than two decades.

I would be very surprised if there's any change made to the morning show. From what I know, it seems to be the best daypart by far on KSCA, and does very well in other markets like Chiacgo, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Houston. (though KLTN is down and in key demos as of late...) I wonder what's coming next to PM drive on all these stations, I think it's roughly a dozen Univision stations or so where that show aired.

I have to disagree with you the new formed company Televisa-Univision have began to make changes.
And, again, the radio division has the same people they had long before the merger / buyout. And Televisa has not radio division in Mexico.

Mornings is a concept show that is literally called "The good, the bad and the ugly" so to some extent the parts are interchangable.

Houston has a local morning show with 30-year market veteran Raúl Bryndis. They don't take the network show from LA.

The afternoon show host "married well" and was doing almost all the show from home... and it's said she wanted to move on.

(I am just saying things already reported elsewhere or covered in press releases)

Speaking about Univision Radio changes, by now you know that WADO and a couple of other stations are getting sold to Latino Media Network. But let's focus solely on New York's X 96.3. Luis Jimenez is back on Terrestrial Radio (via X96.3), back again to wreck La Mega with it's sister station in misery, 93.1 Amor not being spared. Are there gonna be any other changes to WXNY? The station is just apart the Latino Mix section of TelevisaUnivision without the branding. I wouldn't be surprised if the station makes a major change to it's branding.

Luis Jiménez is on at noon time, though. No doubt as the more "talk-heavy" alternative to WSKQ's Alex Sensation.

A no-hoper, for sure, but the logic is sound. A similar show who burned out in mornings, Piolín, has been doing pretty well for himself in the same daypart.

A little correction, Alex is on SBS' WSKQ.

The story goes like this.. When Piolin was forced out Unvision lost everything they had invested in the show and even before when piolin did not want to renew his contract (i was involved) Univision realized he had them by the balls so when BMF was created by Haz and Antonio they created the show so that members could be moved around or fired without killing the show. First example of that was LA MALA who use to be la bronca and was switched for Karla ANYWHO.. My Money is on the leader of the Morning show soon exiting to go Solo on PM drive. Just the start of a few changes before they start chopping heads in December.

I heard an announcement on KLTN this evening that the afternoon show returns on Monday in a "new season".

Makes me wonder where SBS is to go next. Texas seems like the next logical step.
Only if Audacy and/or Cox are willing to unload stations in Houston (Imagine SBS purchasing KLOL without making changes to the format.) But neither group are unloading their Houston stations at this time, and even then, SBS better wish not to get a raw deal and receive KTHT, as their signal barely covers the more "urban" parts of the Houston metro, Latino-heavy or otherwise.

Dallas, only KLIF looks less viable, but other than that...

If Estrella Media were to get out of the radio business (and concentrate on TV) their DFW and Houston FM stations would probably be a target for SBS. You could throw KROI in Houston into that mix, but there are all sorts of potential suitors for that station.

SBS has been in Houston before on the TV side as it owned KTBU/55 from 2011-20 as an outlet for its Mega-TV network.

SBS sold all its rimshots and marginal facilities years ago, right down to the profitable Class A operation in Los Angeles. While part of that was due to the need for capital to pay loans, it was mostly because they did not want ugly facilities with poor coverage.

The Estrella stations are terrible facilities. All are ultra-rimshots and not what SBS is accustomed to operating today.

They expanded in FL mostly because the two new markets fit the flavor of their existing properties in Puerto Rico and they already have talent and music research to employ in each case.

Also, they wanted a station to advertise their events on - particularly the Día Nacional de la Salsa and Guaya Guaya concerts that spawned very popular spin offs in Florida.

Well the change is coming soon.. Amor106.5's afternoon male talent will be the new ''bronca'' THE NEW HOST FOR EL FREEWAYSHOW. TALK ABOUT UNIVISION HAVING NO CLUE
