Univision Frequency move? 98.5 to 97.7 - is this a rumor

okay i know they are simolcasting 98.5 on both stations but the strong, strong, strong rumor is that they are going to move 98.5 entirely to 97.7 and focus on a spanish station on 98.5 w piolin????

ironically they just did this in htown where they moved Party to a frequency with a very poor signal.


i guess im hearing that univision is not into the non spanish formats.....

so speculations, who gains, who looses?
 
That would be VERY stupid if they do that, with KBBT being the top billing in the market? But who knows. I wouldnt think they will do that. My guess is that they will leave it like it is.
 
Maybe you are thinking of them letting go of 97.7 and making it an affiliate for Piolin por La Manana. KBBT is doing great and miving The Beat would be stupid.

I agree that it would be a dumb move. Let me clarify something though, KISS is the top billing station in the market, not KBBT. Plus, ratings or no ratings, KPWT has managed to pull some of KBBT's revenue simply by undercutting. While still number one, and a good revenue stream for Univision, KBBT is not the monster share station or biller that it used to be. These things only in the SMALLEST way might make this rumor believable.

But let's be real people....rumors are rumors....nothing more. I seriously doubt it with the billboards of Xavier, the massive street presence, etc. We're supposed to believe that they're gonna shoot themselves in the foot by switching for Piolin? come on,man...KBBT is here to stay
