MarcB said:
Univision has been sold to a group of Private-Equity Firms for $13.7 billion. The deal includes their three networks - Univision, Telefutura, and Galavision along with 62 TV stations, 73 radio stations, and Univision Records.

Details from CBS Marketwatch:

This means unless you can pick up an OTA Televisa affiliate or O&O (is there such a thing as "affiliates" and "O&Os" in Mexican TV?), you've are about to see (or have seen, depending on the gal) the last of a bevy of Televisa soap starlets, many of whom have their bios and galleries at http://www.esmas.com/espectaculos/artistas/ . :(

Right, Marc?

P.S. I don't get Televisa. I don't live near the border. :-[

Years ago, Galavision used to air on Los Angeles Channel 22 from the afternoon to late night. In the morning, they would air the business channel. This was probably the closest Galavision had to an affilate.

Who's the Univision announcer?

I always liked that Univision announcer, although I am not fluent in Spanish. :-[

"!Estaviernesochosietecentro! por Univision." Real fast.

What's his name? Anyone know?
