Univision to rebrand Telefutura

January 7 2013 Univision will rebrand Telefutura to a new Name UniMas. Apparently Univision is trying to raise ratings d make their second network move up to second place. Telemundo has that spot at the moment, also Univision wants to have a similar name to their mother network and ofcourse UNIVISION 2 wouldn't sound to good.

Lots of stations from WFTY in NYC to KTFO in Austin to KFTR in LA changed their call letters to include TF and FT to go with the Telefutura branding.

That can happen when call letters match the network. In Dec. 2005, Lubbock station KUPT changed its calls to KWBZ to reflect an affiliation with The WB Network. Eight months later, The WB folded, the Lubbock station affiliated with The CW, and changed calls to KLCW. Some stations, such as KWBA in AZ and KLWB in LA simply kept the WB calls, regardless of new affiliation. Most Ion stations have kept the PX calls, even though the Pax Network is long gone.

I wonder how many FT and TF stations take call letters with UM?
