unknown catch on 99.5

I have been listening to Rock 99.5 out of Birmingham for the past few days after replacing the cable on my outdoor antenna. Today while WZRR began to fade a little, there was some other classic rock or rock station that began coming in, the most likely would be WRNO in New Orleans (as it's in the general direction the antenna was pointing) or WKSM in Ft Walton Beach. being the closest rock formatted station on that frequency besides WZRR. it was sometime around 11:30 am (Central) they played You Can't Always Get What You Want from the Rolling Stones, followed by Little Sister from Stevie Ray Vaughan. there was a woman on between the songs, but I didn't get the station name other than "99-5" because the blasted WAY-FM translator about 20 miles away started taking over the frequency briefly. it was NOT WZRR, they did play You Can't Always Get What You Want this morning but it was a couple of hours earlier. I could hear WZRR in the background in a commercial break.

I can rule out WKSM for you. I checked "YES", and they don't list either of those songs within two hours of your target time. WRNO doesn't seem to have a listing.

What time?

There was a pretty good sporadic-E opening late morning yesterday. (11-noonish, though it may have popped open again after I left for work at 1) From here, it was mostly Colorado, and there's a classic rock station on 99.5 in Denver.

Yep. It was KQMT "The Mountain" on 99.5 out of Denver!! I just checked yes.com and Tuesday morning at 10:30am MDT (11:30 CDT) KQMT played "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by the Rolling Stones, and at 10:37am they played "Look At Little Sister" by Stevie Ray Vaughn. No doubt you had KQMT!! Nice catch.

woo, this car stereo was crap in the car, but it works wonders on a 25ft high outdoor antenna, two stations from Dallas, now Denver. Before I hooked it up I had NEVER gotten ES and actually caught it, I got KLLI Dallas, and the spanish 107.1 near Dallas, within two weeks of eachother.
