Unknown Oldies on 1140 Radio Aurora?

SO I was flipping around the am dial tonight and at 8:25 PM I stopped on 1140, it was playing Imagine By John Lennon. When The Song ended I was expecting an ID, I got one, BUT, It was in SPANISH. I heard A Mention of Monterrey Musica.
I also heard Radio Aurora. What are the calls for this station, why are they playing American Classic Hits, and are they from Monterrey.

After the commercial break they were back to Spanish Music.

This, is confusing to say the least.

Yes, it's XEMR and it's not sports unless they air it in other dayparts. At night, last I checked, it was still the same eclectic music mix they've been doing for quite a while.

Wow, I am kind of surprised you got this in D/FW. XEMR comes in at night here in Houston, but only faintly. KHFX must not get very far out of Cleburne at night for you to catch XEMR over it. Liberty, there are a couple of other stations that you might be able to find playing English songs with a Spanish presentation. XEWA-Monterrey at 540 does so on the weekends as "W Radio Musica". Listenable enough signal in the suburbs of Houston, but hardly a trace inside the loop. Also have found the same "W Radio" format at 900 which I assume is XEOK (also from Monterrey), although I have never been able to confirm it.

The station was actually coming in quite strongly for the duration of the John Lennon tune, but as it went to commercial break it started to get weak.

A year or two Ago I would always catch Classic Rock on 1300 with Spanish Presentation.
