Unknown Person (around 1990)

Definitely Deborah Norville. The setting is a bit tricky, though -- I wouldn't expect someone as fashion-conscious as Norville to be wearing black on a morning show like Today, yet her demeanor seems a little too informal and light-hearted for Nightly News (she looks as if she is reacting to something someone said off-camera). I'd lean towards the former, unless this came from an not-for-broadcast moment (something off a satellite feed, perhaps?) of the latter. Was the same set used in both shows circa 1990?

(BTW, I love playing "detective" on things like this. We should all dig through our own video and still archives and post a "mystery photo" now and then...) :)

An additional helper: Who used the graphics on the bottom of the picture:

Note: It's from the same bit of video for which I grabbed the frame seen in the first link.

Are you sure it isn't from a few years earlier? It looks like it might be from WMAQ-TV Chicago when she was there (she left in '87).

That actually looks like former Los Angeles anchor Terry Murphy. She was a KNXT (KCBS now) and left to do a "Hard Copy" type show.

For some reason tea picture does not look like Ms. Norville. I did a youtube search for some Today show footage of her and found this clip from 1990.

Other than the generic reporterette look of the era I don't see her. I can not offer up a name in her place.

I looked at a bunch of stills of Ms. Norville, and I think the face itself is a dead match. However, among the myriad of hairstyles she has worn over the years, I saw no stills where her hair was quite the same length and cut as the mystery photo. If it's not her, though, it's her long-lost sister.

All I know is she is some blonde TV news chick with the perky flip-o-bangs look that was popular with blonde female local TV newscasters back in the day, circa 1993-2001 (I swear they gotta have some kind of inside magazine for all these hairdos you see almost nowhere else but on LOCAL TV NEWS.....)

DON'T THEY?? Fer chrissakes, I saw 'em EVERYWHERE back then. I still see 'em NOW!!......
