UNLICENSED RADIO MAN GO EXTRA DISTANCE (DORCHSETER REPORTER) TOUCH FM

Please please, do not look down on anyone here, do not look down on me nor say bad things about us who agree that Boston needs an Urban AC or Rhythmic AC station. Please do not say bad to us here. If you understand about WILD 1090, HOT 97.7 and WILD 97.7, and Star 93.7, if you understand the loss of all those radio stations and understand Boston has NO TRUE 24/7 Urban AC, nor Rhythmic AC station, if you all understood, you would say bad things to us.

He may be doing illigal things by having an Illegal Radio Station, but the positive thing is, he is standing up for (rights)

Seattle, Wa has Urban AC, Hip Hop, and Party Blues
Anchroge, Alaska (of all places) has Hip Hop and Rhythmic AC

The least we have here in Boston (besides all the Illegal Pirates) the least we have is [(on WILD 1090am, Urban Talk weekdays until 4pm, then 4pm-sundown Classic Soul (with no radio announcers) on weekends they have some Talk shows and Classic Soul with no radio announcers until sundown, as well as Sundays)]
That's the least we have for Urban AC in Boston. Nothing on at night nor 24/7
No (real) radio stations in Boston plays NEW Urban AC music.

Sorry everyone, but what this guy is doing, is standing up for his rights, and trying to get Urban AC radio station back in Boston. The people are out there who love this music. Listen to these stations yourselves and see for yourself (Touchfm.org) Bigcityfm.com See for yourself. People are out there away from the city who can't listen to that great programming because you can ONLY get those stations in Boston Urban Neighborhood. Trust me, there are Asians in Lowell who would love to hear Bigcity 101.3 music. Trust me on that for a true fact.

Sorry

Again, please understand. Please do not look down on me, you don't know me, I don't know you. I don't mean no harm to no one.

Let's stand up for the brave drug pusher too. Yeah, he's breaking the law, but people NEED drugs!

Get together and buy a station, even a smaller one. Or get a magic radio where you can find all
those types of music (not so much local content, though). Or go on smaller stations--including
college/non-comm.--and do shows and get your music out that way. Who knows, maybe it will
succeed. If there's an audience, someone will cater to you.

Naah, just break the law. Why not put it right next to a legit station like that 105.5 pirate in Worcester did.
Sure, infringe on law-abiding stations. Why not.

FIGHT THE POWER !!! Touch-FM is what radio should be. Not Ipod radio ( 92.9,1090, Mike-FM and Jack crap Format ). FCC is a Joke . FCC make the rules but can't Police the rules. DTV Switch in Febuary ? Now its in June ( Out of Coupons ).Does anyone do there homework at The FCC ? Its time to fine the FCC ( or put them OUT OF BUSINESS ).

Congress moved the deadline, not the FCC.

I don't see anywhere in the Constitution or the laws of the United States where there is any right to operate a radio transmitter. Show me where it says that, and maybe we'll have something to discuss.

Until then, this guy is just another lawbreaker whose reasoning can be boiled down to "I want...I want...I want....me...me...mine...mine..."

The best part of the article (if you find humor in irony) is right under the words 'Dorchester Reporter", it says "The news and VALUES around the neighborhood". Apparently breaking the law is a cherished value in Dorchester!!

Some laws need to be broken . MLK was a criminal . Now America ( and the world ) is a better place. Fight THE POWER !!!! Pirate Radio RULES !!!

The same old tired claptrap. The Supreme Court put that argument to rest in 1943, stating in National Broadcasting Company, Inc., v. F.C.C. that there is no right to operate a radio transmitter and that the FCC's authority to regulate the radio spectrum was constitutional and perfectly consistent with the First Amendment.

MLK was a criminal, I truly believe that. I've been afraid to say it all my life. My grandfather was an FBI agent investigating MLKs ties to organized crime. When MLK started his rise to popularity the FBI shut down the investigations and instructed their agents to protect MLK and ignore all the evidence they were going to use to indite him. At that time there was a mass exodus of FBI agents and personnel, including my grandfather who decided to take early retirement rather than protect a man he believed he had sufficient proof to put away as a criminal.

As for the FCC. Fight The Power! Fight The Powers That Be. IF you have a clean, open frequency that you can broadcast a pirate radio station on without interfering with the signals of licensed stations, I'm all for it. Put a unique format or a standard format that isn't served in your market to avoid pissing off the legal stations and you might get away with it. I've know many DJs on legal stations that had shows on pirates under a different name where they really showed their stuff. Some pirate radio is an art that needs to be recorded and preserved for its' significance. And while you're at it, don't censor the music and say whatever you want, politically correct or not.

Have any of you ever heard a drug dealer advertising on a pirate radio station? I have, on a 200 watt station in a decent sized city that is an unrated market (I think there are about 40 thousand people in the range of the 200 watt signal.) I bought a large, but still misdemeanor, amount of skunk from him one time about a week after he started advertising. After that I was spooked enough that I didn't use him again. As far as I know he was never busted, at least during the time he was advertising. He ran bud commercials on that pirate for about 3 months, and this was in a town in Dixie, not Eureka/Humboldt county, California.

I respect the rights of licensed station owners to protect their property from interference and such, but I don't think they should be policing the entire public radio spectrum. Pirates (that speak english and play music that Americans want to hear) are a great assett to the public airwaves. I want one, but I've got to work a real job.

MLK was a criminal because of the old U.S.A. racist laws . MLK and organized crime ? GIVE ME A BREAK ! We All know who are the real drug dealers ( FBI selling dope in the U.S. Cities ) . Mike-FM,WBOS,1090 and All Jack crap format, is everything that is wrong about today Radio. Ipod Radio is not what radio should be . Today radio stations =

R= REVENUE
A = ADVERTISING
D= DOLLARS
I = INVOICES (i.e. sales!)
0= OVERKILL (same 10 songs over and over and over!)

( OK I stole this from The Atlanta Board, But this is true about today radio )

Radio dont give a Crap about there COL ( 97.7 don't give a Sh-- about Brocton, 93.7 dont give a S--t about Lawrence ).

To many good radio personnel has been kick out the door ( Fired ).

Stop trying to fool the public with the Voicetracking crap ( the public knows there no DJ sitting at the radio station ).

Too Many national shows . People want to know what going on, in there local area .

Act of 1996 Sucks ! Big companies own too many radio stations in One market . Local ownership is almost DEAD.

Radio stations need to go back to what it used to be ( cater to the people it serve ) Or Radio will be at The Museum of Science ( History ) .

The station that used to serve the black community could not survive doing it so they changed format. Mr. Clemons fails to acknowledge that WILD is owned by Radio One an black owned radio group. If I didn't have to pay anything for a commercial radio station license I would be able to make money too. Yes it is comercial listen to it!

Radio One is Garbage owned radio group. Look at radio One recent history . Radio One F-- up in LA, Boston, The Midwest and now they are playing musical format chairs in Atlanta . W-I-L-D was doing great until Radio One Trash it . Boston Red Sox never won with The Yawkeys . Patriots never won with The Sullivans . Bad Ownership/Poor decision = Bad product .

I think you and your buddies on this board should put some $$ together and buy a station. That way, you can tell us about how easy it is to run a station, how corporate radio doesn't know what they're doing, they don't serve the local community. Oh, wait, you already tell us all that 100 times over....

Don't forget, everyone wants to make money.

This man is heroic. Bad laws deserve to be broken - kudos to him for having the cojones to do so visibly. He has not harmed anyone and is being a good radio neighbor - no victim, no crime.

To those who say he should obey the FCC's laws, or worse, would advocate hurting him for not doing so - would you have followed the law in Nazi Germany and snitched on Jews?
