It will be a daytime signal only. Us older folks know why. Hey Roddy, remember when you were 12-years-old and you used to sneak the transistor radio under your pillow to listen to 890AM?
We dont need another christian station on the AM band. God, why cant anyone program anything but religion on AM????Andy said:

I only counted seven on the ATL AM dial, plus one Latino Christian station, not counting those owned by Salem (Fish, WGKA, WNIV/WLTA, and the Latino one on 1190 that used to be WGKA) and Love 86 (incl. WWWE). Methinks that Salem has sucked up most of the oxygen in this market (not to mention the only viable signals that aren't being used by the big boys or secular foreign language).
Most of the old pay-to-pray stations, like WAVO 1420 among many others, went secular foreign language (7 Spanish and 2 Korean) a long time ago.
Of those 7 English Christian stations, only about 3-4 of them get a good day signal across ATL. To call the rest rimshots would be generous (McDonough? Bremen? Dallas?). They are all daytimers or put more power into the red light on top of their stick than they do into their night transmitter.
To your point, I would love to hear standards/MOYL or classic country on AM. Most churches have taken their services and sermons online, either streams and/or podcasts. I don't really think there's a market for more religion on the air--certainly not on 5k or weaker daytimers, unless someone can come up with a "hot Christian talk" format or something like that. Heck, WGUN keeps whizzing away their 50kW day power for what?

Where did you get thw WWOF call letters from? Those are the call letters of a Wahalla s.c. Oldies station- 1000 Big wolf radio.

Yes, that is correct, WWOF is an oldies on-air station in Wahalla, SC. 890 AM must have different call letters!!!!!!!!!!

I seriously dobt that WWOF-AM 1000 "Big Wolf Radio" is going anywhere! It`s transmitter in Wahalla, S.C. was completely renovated and completed about two years ago. WWOF seems to be doing quite well with the Oldies format in Wahalla, S.C. Where did all of this 890/GA stuff come from? Someone has confused the call letters, I think!

What is a day-timer worth in the Charlotte markets versus it's worth in Clayton, GA? What is a day-timer worth at the edge of Atlanta versus Walhalla?
Another application that is still "in the hunt" is one that would move a day-timer from Abbeville, SC to the edge of Reno, Nevada. Not so long distance is the move of 1210 from Dahlonega, GA to Lawrenceville, GA.

There is one person at the national level on these boards that consistently reminds us that not all Spanish language stations are equal to each other. Some Spanish language broadcasts are aimed at people from rural North Mexico. Another might program to Spanish speakers from Central America, another might program to people from Columbia or Puerto Rico or Cuba.
Not all religious broadcasting is equal to all the others. Some are Evangelical, some are Pentecostal, and particularly in the case of Spanish speaking people, there is probably room for a Catholic oriented station.
Maybe the new owner has a unique specialty after all. :
