I've been spending this past week at one of our usual getaway spots....on the beach at the Alabama-Florida state line, about 23 miles southwest of downtown Pensacola. I'm not going to repeat stuff I've posted before, but here are updates for the AM band. Daytime unless otherwise indicated. This time I had a really good car radio, which made things a little more interesting
530: R. Enciclopedia now mixing with R. Rebelde 24/7.
540: WFLF seemed stronger than in the past. At first I thought it was the car radio, but also sounded stronger on the ATS 505 portable
570: R. Reloj mixing with Tampa. Hadn't heard Tampa 570 here before
620: WDAE tripping the car scan button. WJDX underneath
680: WGES. I don't think I've heard that one here before
690: WQNO seemed to be back to it's old WTIX self....good here day and night
740: Something underneath a very weak WLWI. I'm assuming KTRH, but couldn't identify
890: R Progeso. Longtime regular at night. Finally heard it daytime. Weak, but both in the car and on the portable. No trace of WLS at night
1060: XEEP good nighttime signal. One of the strongest Mexican signals.
1160: Very good SS night signal....apparently from Cuba. New?
1220: SS all alone at night. XEB? Are they still on?
1280: WTMY clearly audible under New Orleans. 300 watts making the daytime hop from Sarasota? Astonishing! Heard it clearly on both radios.
1540: Bahamas. Blasting right in at night. If indeed they were having previous issues, they now seem to be fixed!
Let me know if you have any questions or requests before I leave Saturday.
