Update on Houston's KHMV/28

After a week of continuously airing a text ID over a grey background, KHMV/28 is running a video loop of station owner Harry Pappas receiving an honorary degree from California State University-Stanislaus. Video starts with introductions, then Pappas beginning his speech. It abruptly cuts to a CG ID with music, then the video starts over. Googling reveals the video was recorded May 31, 2008 at the CSU-S commencement.

Presumably more testing, but perhaps a sign that real programming is about to start on Channel 28.

Update to the update: KHMV/28 is now off the air as of a Monday evening (11/16) check. Last saw it on the air on Thursday 11/12 with the same video loop of Harry Pappas--that must have run about 2,500 times over the two weeks it was on.

A result of 28 being off is that there are now NO analog stations on the air in Houston. Bizarre tuning across the channels on an old set and finding nothing.
