Update on Jennifer Reed

Former afternoon dj for 96 Rock; Jennifer Reed is back on the air at Rock 103 in Memphis. Working the same shift as she did for 6 months here in Atlanta.

Clueless Channel,I mean Clear Channel decided to make some changes at Rock 103 this month.
Rock 103 is actually one of the last good classic rock stations left in this country. But,I am sure Clear Channel will put a stop to that. :D

looks like the writer's strike even applies to this post.
hilarious.

Jennifer Reed just got hired as the new afternoon jockette at active rock WYSP here in Philadelphia. She starts Monday Jan. 21. What can we here in Philly expect from her?

Am I the only one here with a juvenile fixation on sexual attraction?
This lady is pure showbiz.....as hot as Shania Twain and actually Rock & Roll sexy on the air.
Yes....her show was not an "intellectually stimulating" experience but remember, R&R is not a "Mensa" experience....it's about drugs, sex,...and Rock & Roll!
CC was(as usual) stupid to let this diamond out of Atlanta. She would have been a star if CC had actually fully promoted her.

Sorry. It was my poor attempt at sarcasm. I am well aware of the demise.

I didn't catch it - no offense... I still don't get why they let her go right after bringing her to Atlanta. She would have been a good fit even after they screwed with format (again). I'm sure she'll be a big hit in Philly.

R TIBBS ===

I think you should be commended for your thoughtfulness and concern for her. You realize that her dismissal
should have been much more of an critical issue for Atlanta and RI than any format change in 2007/2008 has
or could be. Somehow, if CC was sane, they could have found somewhere within the cluster to nurture her
talents. Philly might just turn out to be a decent place for a road trip. Atlanta seems a little less majestic
without her.

this Jennifer Reed....she looks old, like 30 or more.
i have teachers hotter and younger than that.
how does she "sell" the sex thing? it's over.
my dad might like her, but he doesn't like
radio like i do. (is that enough "likes"?)

Wow, women over 30 aren't sexy? Women over 30 are "old?" Kids these days!

ROFL!!! One of the funniest things I've read on these forums lately. And while I'm in my early 50's and agree with THAT statement, I'll have to disagree with Taylor. Tom, I've seen your wife and she can hold her own against Jennifer Reed or anyone else, you lucky stiff! Go to that link that was posted earlier and just look:

http://www.rock103.com/pages/jennifer.html

Now, she's certainly not unattractive, not by ANY stretch of imagination! But she's almost a Hooters girl caricature. Her belly is flopping out just a bit in the big pic, in another her chest is sticking out ridiculously far (and believe me, I like a nice chest on a lady as well as any guy), but I mean, guys, she's TRYING too hard to be sexy and to me, it just ain't. Not like, say, Jennifer Anniston who truly is sexy without even trying. I never heard Reed on the air here, and if she's a decent jock, then great, but trying to make it on your looks in radio is... well... isn't that a bit ironic?

Thank goodness you didn't hear her in Dallas. She plays up the sexy, vampy, rockerchick role everywhere...but the station she was on in Dallas was called the Bone. The entire station was built around dick jokes and had Reed and a couple other gals sounding like phone sex operators on the air. From what I heard about her Atlanta time, she was dumb as a fencepost and still sounding like a phone sex girl.

To coincide with what taylorengineer said, she's a DJ on a rock station: how intellectual is she supposed to sound? It's not NPR, for Heaven's sake!

About 90% of the research I've done on this site has been quite negative of her; Memphis has been particularly harsh. I guess I'll have to judge for myself starting Monday.

WYSP has had a reputation of being the bad boy of rock stations in Philly compared to the more respected heritage rocker WMMR. Her style, as I've learned about it here, should fit right in.

It's kinda like Stern and Bubba having strippers and porno gals in every day. The same schtick day after day gets old.

Dude!? Ay carumba!

You're right, it ain't NPR and we're not talkin' rocket science when we're dealing with rock 'n roll. But the breathy-dirty-talkin'-babe routine wears thin after a while. It's an easy trap for women in radio to fall into. Most guys dig hearing a woman on the radio, but women don't have to be street-walkers... they can be call girls who work the penthouses... or better yet, they can act like they're in control, with a brain in their head and be even more attractive and appealing. Every woman is some father's daughter. "Dicks 'n chicks" radio doesn't serve women very well in the long run. I may be in the minority, but I like hearing a broad1 who can "finesse it" and has smarts and a sense of humor.

'Course, I ain't 23 any more.
