Provided he is not terminated, he could still work with the Maynard School department to help keep WAVM's license as long as he does not have contact with witnesses or students. It would be difficult, but not impossible.
But these questions now need to be asked:
(1) Will Joe Magno be fired??
(2) If Magno is terminated, will the Maynard School Department then decide to simply give-up on WAVM, shut down the station and turn the license back to the FCC??
Personally, I think the odds are almost 100% that Magno will be terminated and better than 75% that the Maynard School Department will shut WAVM down and turn-in it's FCC license. The school administration may decide that given WAVM's problems and Magno's troubles with the law, it may not be worth fighting to save the station.
According to the webpage of Maynard's School Committee, their next scheduled meeting will be on Thursday, January 19th. I would think the fate of Magno will be on the agenda, and possibly the fate of WAVM itself will also be brought up.
This story from today's (January 10th) Boston Globe on Boston.com (registration may be required) reports that WAVM was not on the air yesterday. I'm beginning to wonder if WAVM has gone off the air forever.
