Update on Marysville Radio Station

I was in Union County yesterday and it appears that WRPO has made some significant improvements in his Part 15 station. The audio has a nice punch now that I don't remember being there before. In fact I am now able to hear the station all the way down to the Rt 161 exit just north of Dublin. Amazing for 100 milliwatts PA input power. There is minimal splatter on the adjacent channels in downtown Marysville which suggests the use of an NRSC mask processor in the audio chain. In the strong signal areas it actually sounds better than the local religious talker who runs 500 Watts. Good job.....................

Now if I could only get my own Part 15 to cover even 1/4 as well I would be a happy camper!

Thanks for the nice report. We are using an Inovonics 222 processor that helps make us sound better, along with a limiter and a BE console.
The Rangemaster helps too!! Actually we are running LESS than 100 mw and it covers the area we want to serve. BTW..our call letters for the Marysville station is WMHO-1620 AM. (WRPO is an LPFM at Indian Lake, which I help run). WMHO is NOT being used by any other station at this time, per FCC call letter site. Anyone that happens to be in the area are ) invited to stop in and see the station. Just give me a call at 937.642.1620 and I'll meet you there. Best to all..Gene ;D

Rangemaster

How do you have the Inovonics 222 set up??

My audio chain consists of an AGC, Limiter, and Inovonics 222 fed directly into the Rangemaster. The only way to get good/non-distorted audio is to turn the audio pot on the Rangemaster WAY down. All connections are balanced and set up according to manfactures' instructions. I don't like having the audio pot down so far because I think it's effecting my range.

Just wondering how you have yours set up.

Thanks
