UPDATE on the WFLF Jammer

So far, he's back on with distorted audio. Last night, it was a battle of him and WFLF. Still airing dead air over night.
Now I'm hearing WFLF complete with RDS info. Kinda wish we can get our own WFLA tower, guess we are not Florida enough for one. (sigh) It seems every other city but us has one..

He's talking about a translator in Fort Walton that has taken out a big chunk of Panama City WFLF-FM 94.5's real coverage area.

Castro's still cool.

How did the FCC allow this to happen in the first place?

(and it's 530.. think 540 is straight MX)

I haven't heard 530 in a long time up here but it used to be the RVC affiliate, formerly on 535. Does Cuba have to clog EVERY frequency? Sometimes I can hear the RR morse code signals here in New England on 570.

As for the F.C.C., the answer is $. We've got pirates here which just keep going, as opposed to when they raided Tampa's The Party Pirate on 102.1 in 1997.

No, it's Radio Enciclopedia from Cuba on 530, not RVC. RVC (which was from the Turks & Caicos Islands) has been silent for a very long time.

Whats the power output of 530? I heard only 5KW or 10KW but due to the transmitters location, it can be heard quite a distance and Cuba being an island also helps.
