Why would it? They'll almost certainly sign up with My Network TV. I don't get the impression that whatever money WBGT makes, it makes off its prime-time network lineup. All the home shopping and leased time and the sports packages will continue unchanged.

And it's not like WBGT ever had a plausible shot at The CW, anyway.
______________

I want to see the name changed as well...it's about as lame as "A-Channel". But, "Fox 2" will never happen, because there are stations out there known as FOX 2, such as WJBK Detroit.

In any case, they need a shorter name, preferably consisting of three letters or less, because that is what viewers are used to for network names. I'd rather stay away from a branding with a "2" because it implies that it is not as good as FOX, or that it is on Channel 2. Some names I'd suggest:

ATV - American Television
N - Novella Television
DOG - If you can name one network FOX, why not name another one after an animal?!
______________

DOG? Nah, I don't think so. First of all, Television isn't part of the name. Secondly, it doesn't have any telecommunications buzzwords in it. Thirdly, I'm not sure it would live up to that standard.

I'm thinking Metropolitan United Transcontinental Television, or MUTT
