Updates on Affiliation Switch from CBS News Radio Closure.

This schedule was posted on DCRTV.com

The final hour of CBS News Radio coverage will have a local connection. Veteran Washington broadcaster Christopher Cruise will anchor both the 11 p.m. and 11:31 p.m. final newscasts live from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York. The 11 p.m. report will consist entirely of a tribute to CBS News Radio through the years. Another familiar local voice, Maryland-based Michael Toscano, will handle the network’s final overnight shift tonight into Friday morning.

For those hoping to hear the network’s last moments live, options around the D.C./Baltimore area may be limited now that WTOP has already moved on. However, listeners should still be able to stream the final broadcasts through SiriusXM’s POTUS channel. They have continued carrying the CBS News Radio hourly casts. And if you miss it live, DCRTV plans to post the audio from the final broadcasts afterward.

Very likely CBS News radio is gone from OTA's in major cities given the Audacy announcement today and in this one SiriusXM's Potus channel is one of the few places to access CBS Radio News for the final time. Iheart app is the other one with their via World News Roundup. The only affiliates CBS News Radio have left are Iheart radio app, Tunein, Audacy app and Sirius XM as of May 21st.

Re-posting my entry on the similarly-themed thread in the News/Talk forum
with links to podcasts of the On The Hour newscasts + World News Roundup episodes:

Is anyone going to record the very last top of hour newscast for us? I want to see if they do anything special.

Where I live, Fox News, though the co-owned talk station has been doing that too. The oldies station leaves at the first commercial break.

WWJ, as of 4 p.m. EDT, appears to be the lone holdout among the Audacy all-news clusters nationally with a TOH sticking with CBS. I wonder if WWJ will run out the clock or bail just before CBS folds.

KGLO Mason City, Iowa did something that I thought was clever and appropriate.

At 12 noon (Central time), KGLO aired the CBS TOH news as usual. Then it aired the "Good Night and Good Luck" retrospective for the rest of the hour, pre-empting its usual local information block.

At 1 pm, KGLO aired...ABC news.

Nice transition!

97.3 WZBG in Litchfield, Connecticut owned by Full Power Radio had 3 mins of dead air on their stream during the 9PM Eastern hour Friday. They ran CBS News for years. I don't have access to a terrestrial radio to see if it was just their stream blocking the nees. Prior to being bought by FPR WZBG was partially owned by Dick Ebersol and Susan Saint James and the CBS news was 5 minutes.

Listening to KELY now (7pm hour Pacific time). Airing a special about Studio 9. Featuring highlights from the past. Really neat, but sad knowing that the end is near. I am recording it.

Kind of like watching the last Late Show last night.
