updates on CBS Radio 98.7 The Fan?

Date of flip Aug 2. They've done a good job of keeping a lid on the lineup.

Q105 is running promos. Think CBS will place the Play airstaff on other stations? Will they get picked up by Cox or CC? Whadda ya tink?

Apparently you missed my post in the last thread on this topic.

I saw your post. I don't take anonymous, unattributed posts on a BBS as gospel. What can I say, I'm just an "old media" curmudgeon who give more weight to people's opinions when they're posted under the own names, or when I know the person behind the alias and have some way of judging their credibility.

I believe I read on the new 98.7 The Fan Facebook page that the flip will occur at noon on August 2. I also read that Meredith (formerly of the MJ Morning Show) will be a part of the station's morning show, according to her own FB page.

I can see Meredith becoming Erin Andrews like.
Smart move

I saw an online article that has Kirk McEwen paired with Dingman AM drive, Wright and Booger 10a-3p, Justin and Shelton 3-7, Herrera 7-10p, and the Sports Babe 10-midnight. Still not confirmed but similar to the other post...

I'll happily applaud anyone who gets the lineup right and publishes it in advance. Right now, I haven't seen any projected lineups that I feel are credible. I could be wrong and I'm not overly worried about it. I just hope all goes well for everyone involved. A new, really good sports talker would be a good thing for me as a listener, so I'm optimistic and open minded.

Confirmed sports babe will be on overnights from 1-6. Good get for that slot.

Applaud me!

6AM-10AM Is Dingman and McEwen
10Am-2pm is Pawloski and Shelton
2-6pm is Wright and McFarland
6-10pm is Herrerra
10-1am is a work in progress because the Talent backed out of deal late
1-6am is Sports Babe

Given the fact that most, if not all CBS stations will carry the new national shows starting in January, that makes it a pretty good guess that she will be the national overnight show....

Don't forget that 1010 will be 24/7 CBSSR in January, separate from 98.7 - though I suppose 98.7 could get away with simulcasting only the overnight show with 1010, especially given the talent involved...

If the lineup above is confirmed, that means my prediction of Warren Sapp, as well as Sarasota Jeff's lobbying for John Lynch, will be for naught...

The complete weekday on-air schedule includes:

6:00-10:00AM
Kirk and Dinger...Kirk McEwen & former Tampa Bay Lightning player Chris Dingman

10:00AM-2:00PM
Gary and the “Commish”...Tampa Bay Times Columnist Gary Shelton & Justin Pawlowski

2:00-6:00PM
Todd and Booger...Todd Wright & former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Booger McFarland

6:00-10:00PM
Rich Herrera

Nanci Donnellan, best known as the “Fabulous Sports Babe,” will be featured from 1:00-6:00AM.

You can claim your prize in the other thread. ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are all these shows LIVE/LOCAL???
That's the impression I get from everything I've read.

If these are ALL LIVE/LOCAL shows, that's a VERY IMPRESSIVE launch.
And I would imagine that would make sports & sports radio fans in Tampa happier than s***.

Or am I missing something....
