updates on Remembering San Antonio's KEXL website

About last July I mentioned my website honoring the 70's San Antonio radio station KEXL. As friends give me images, stories, or tapes I continue to add to the site. www.penningtontechnicalarts.com/KEXL
If you were around then and a fan of the station then I encourage you to check it out.
Recently I was able to digitize some of the late Nick St. John's tape reels (from the 60's and 70's) and put some of the KEXL related pieces into the site. www.SApets.com is another site of mine that is good to know about. Thanks! Jay

Jay... thank you for posting the link to your remembering KEXL website. Wow... just went through it and it brought back so many memories. Armadillo races, Nick, Allen and the rest. RIP Nick. Is Allen still around anywhere? The last I heard he went into Christian radio.

I'm glad you liked the site...keep checking back as it continues to grow.
Sadly Allen passed away a number of years ago. I never really got the whole story on how he died. From what I can piece together he was not doing anything bad for many years - just the body gave up.

Jay P, Thanks for the old vintage recordings of KONO radio. Wow, I didn't even think those clips even exists anymore. I would be nice if some one would put up a site(s) on the old KTSA 550 and KONO 860 Top 40 days.
Other markets have such sites on their old beloved Top 40 stations from the 60s and 70s.

Last and NOT least, thanks for growing and improving the KEXL tribute site.

I've been gone from SA for so many years and just recently returned. I'm sad to hear Allen passed away. For a time, we were pals. He dated a friend of mine when he was at KISS. Again...thanks for the KEXL memories.
