Can someone confirm this...is KWTX Waco/Temple/Killeen and KBTX Bryan/College Station launching a new UPN affiliate for the market within their digital facilities? I noticed some TV show websites adding "KWTX-DT/UPN" and "KBTX-DT/UPN" in their station lists. I don't see a press release or anything on their sites.
Their owner, Gray, is a huge believer in these multicasts. Most of their CBS affiliates now offer a UPN affiliate as a subchannel on their CBS station's digital facilities. In fact, they just announced a reverse -- their UPN WVAG 44 (to be WSWG) Valdosta/Albany GA is going to create new CBS affiliate via WVAG-DT next year. It will be CBS' first digital only affiliate. Fox just got their first one when ABC WTOK-DT Meridian created a "Fox Meridian" subchannel.
In Texas, UPN is offered this way in Amarillo (KFDA-DT), Midland/Odessa (KOSA-DT), and in two weeks in Tyler/Longview (KYTX-DT).
