UPN This Fall

Now that Enterprise is leaving UPN, what will take it's place (as the show up to now airs on weekends, check local listings)? Also, will there be new (or semi-new) kids programming, or will the time frames (Weekdays 7-9am, Sunday 9-11am) belong to the stations for the third season in a row? (Personally, I think the DIC Kids Network should air exclusively on UPN stations)

Smackdown is airing in ENT's Friday slot.

I think UPN will keep at arm's length from kiddie shows for the near future, especially since E/I rules have toughened (the now-ever-present E/I bug), and regular shows and infomercials are more profitable.

The DIC Kids Network is distributed by Tribune Broadcasting, so IMO it should air on The WB because Tribune owns a large percentage of The WB Network.
______________

Yeah. I noticed that Saved by the Bell had an e/i bug.

How is Saved by the Bell educational or instructional? Just because it took place in a school does not a lesson make. If that were the case, 21 Jump Street and Welcome Back Kotter could be shown to make the e/i-nazis happy.

Probably for the same reason "The Smurfs" are -- it has just a slight smidgen of educational and informational material to please the FCC.

Is this a good time to dust off those "Room 222" reruns, then?

Or "Head of the Class"...

Better add "Head Of the Class", "Square Pegs", & the first couple of seasons of "90210" to the list. On a differnt note why isn't TVLand running "Room 222"? Have the film prints decayed in the vaults?
______________

Won't happen. Frankly, there's not enough money in weekday kids programming. WBKids was pulled for that reason.

Why should it air exclusively on UPN stations?

That would destroy the profitability of the DIC Kids Network (as would another suggestion in this thread to run it exclusively on the WB).

The way that DIC makes a profit with these shows is by having it air on multiple stations in most markets, and then selling the cumulative rating from those multiple airings to advertisers. If it only aired on one station per market, DIC probably would lose money.
