V100 ( former Radio One station and 100.3 The Beat )Los Angeles is now History . All Radio Airstaff will be let go this friday ( 4/4/08 ). Another Radio One Mess Up ( I see Dunb People ) .

radio one really **** up 1003 when they try do urban ac format whenn la already had two stations.with the same format

I agree that this wasn't a good fit for LA. However, having listened to the stream this was ironically probably one of Radio One's best urban ACs, what a great airstaff including Shirley Hayes and Mike Julius (sp) formerly of V-103 Chicago. The station really sounded good.

Rapking, wasn't the demise of WILD-FM in Boston due to the financial hit Radio One took with the Los Angeles debacle?

L.A. listeners still have Stevie Wonder's 102.3 KJLH, so Urban AC isn't totally gone.

KJLH isn't that bad. And I always wondered just how many Urban AC's LA could support. Besides, Radio One has proved it doesn't necessarily do better than any other company at providing Black oriented entertainment. And look at NY: two legendary Urban ACs, WBLS and WRKS. None of which are owned by Radio One.
