Urban One to Acquire KKDA and KRNB, Divest KZMJ

Common Sense would also tell you that the.post from txchip says that the staff is coming back better and STRONGER. That’s a hint. From reading that post, it seems to me that KBFB is the one going away.

Or it could be that some of KRNB and Majic’s staffs will consolidate on one station. There are a lot of ways to interpret that post.

Notice how Rickey said 97.9 The Beat, and the promo that Dj Fresh posted said 97.9 The Beat. I didn’t hear anything about Majic 97.9…

We all know that a company like Radio One is not going to give complete details of every move they plan on making. When everything is set in stone, they will give an official statement.

The "Majic" brand isn't moving to 97.9. But nothing has been said about the format.

And where has anything been said about departing staff yet? Was that party for departing staff or the brand in general?

When all is said and done in the next week or two, Radio One will have three Urban brands in Dallas. A Hip Hop station, An Adult R&B station, and either R&B Oldies or something in-between the first two. The K104 brand isn't going anywhere. Everything else is still on the table publicly.

I know a lot of people who work at Service, now Radio One. I worked with several of them in Charlotte. There were several people let go. I can confirm that. The party featured both the departing brand and staff.

As for future plans, I can also confirm that you have no inside information. You're speculating just like the rest of us. Don't try to correct people because you don't know what you're talking about.
