Urban One to Acquire KKDA and KRNB, Divest KZMJ

No mention of the station’s beginnings as KGAF-FM? Also left out Z-Rock and the original version of The Edge.🤔🤪
Do they really have to go through the entire encyclopedic history of the frequency and long-gone formats? Especially when the listeners to those incarnations moved on decades ago? This was for Majic/R&B era listeners, who's opinion would likely be WGAF about KGAF.

Only true Black radio heads will remember The Edge and Z-Rock. KGAF even I don't remember.

KGAF-FM went to 100kw in 1965, but it was on a 370 foot tower a couple miles east of Gainesville. It moved to an 1100 ft stick in the mid 80s, which enabled fringe coverage in northern DFW in time for the 1987 arrival of Z-Rock, but it wasn't until May 1990 that the 1900 ft stick was constructed, giving the signal decent coverage over most of the market. (KDGE even managed to reach #1 in 18-34 during Alternative's heyday on the signal.)
