Urban Slow Songs format

Does anyone remember the brief stint of the urban love songs fomat? I believe it was labled urban AC. I remember 106.3 in Chicago experimented with this in the early 90s I believe. I believe WALR in Atlanta also did this as Love 104.5. Does anyone remember the format and how long it lasted? Were there any other stations that attempted this?

I don't remember it. WILV 100.3 Love FM tried a hybrid Urban AC/AC Love Songs station. They have since added some more mid/up tempo songs to their playlist. Also, when Sirius Satellite Radio first launched, they had a channel called "Slow Jamz" on 52. I think it would have worked had they played some old school slow jamz, but all they ever played was current music. I don't know any other stations that have tried it.
