Urban Syndication

It seems as if syndication on Urban and Urban AC stations has gone to an all time high! Clear Channel wants Steve Harvey and Keith Sweat on all of there Urban or Urban AC stations. Not to mention Clear Channel has lots of jocks here in the South syndicated on various Urban stations down here. Radio One has Rickey Smiley or Russ Parr on all of there Urban stations as well as CoCo Brotha on Sunday mornings. Tom Joyner in the mornings and Mo'Nique in the afternoons on the Radio One Urban AC stations. Syndication is here to stay!! What a shame!!

Can't forget the most known syndicated...
Tom Joyner
Steve Harvey
Russ Parr
Rickey Smiley
Big Boy's Neighborhood
Yolanda Adams
Warren Ballentine
Al Sharpton
Michael Baisden
Wendy Williams
Doug & DeeDee
Mo'Nique
Keith Sweat
Mel Dovoune
106 & Park Weekend Radio Countdown
Walt Baby Love's Countdown
Baka Boyz

. . .im sure im missing a ton!

You might want to add Walt "Baby" Love for both his urban and gospel countdowns. He's one of the true veterans of urban radio over the last 35+ years.

If I had to grade these shows, Here is how I would grade them
Tom Joyner---F ( But I love his TV-One show )
Steve Harvey----A
Russ Parr------B ( Bring Back Bobby Jimmy )
Rickey Smiley----B
Big Boy's Neighborhood---C
Yolanda Adams----A
Warren Ballentine---D
Al Sharpton-----F
Michael Baisden---C
Wendy Williams---B
Doug & DeeDee----B
Mo'Nique----A
Keith Sweat -----B
Mel Dovoune-----I ( I Never heard of this show )
106 & Park Weekend Radio Countdown---B
Walt Baby Love's Countdown-----A
Baka Boyz-------A

Still prefer Tom Joyner to Steve Harvey myself.

I also like Yolanda Adams. Doug and DeDe sounds not bad when I hear it. Rickey Smiley can be funny. I have always liked Mel DeVonne's show. The rest of the shows are just okay.

I have never heard anyone say they enjoy Big Boys Neighborhood. He's on in LA and NY and of course on many stations where he replaced Doug Banks Morning Show. I did have Walt Baby on the list. As a matter of fact, that was the first syndicated show I knew of when I was growing up along with "On The Phone with Tyrone" and "The Clarance Update." Wouldn't be suprised if Rickey Smiley adds more stations in 2009.

Some of the phone taps on Big Boy's show are kind of funny. However, there really isn't much to his show, just phone taps, and celebrities news updates it seems mixed in with music.

I think you're talking about Mel Devonne, he hosts an evening show on ABC Radio's The Touch format called The Love Zone. There are some stations that stream the format, to check out his show you can log on to www.thetouch953.com or KTGV 105.1 The Groove at mms://nick11.surfernetwork.com/KTGV
