Urgent Request from NOLA: Get the Police Scanner Back

I am getting urgent requests from people in New Orleans via WWL-TV to try and get in contact with the person/people who ran the relay of the NOPD scanner link. There have been dozens of people who have been listening and are in contact with the NOPD via text messaging to inform police officers who are near certain locations about loved ones who are nearby who they might be able to rescue while in the area.

The scanner link is definitely more than just entertainment for a lot of people down there - it has become a very important link. If I can get contact information, or if we can find a way to get this restored, let me know. It is urgently being sought.

If these links do not work, or are full, let me know. I can get you in touch with the guy who has a backdoor addy...

Thanks. I added your site to the credit list. I had no idea these links would turn out to be so important for people, but they are using whatever they can get.

I don't run the site, but I have been e-mailing the guy on and off about the streams. I don't know what is on the scanner list, but hopefully it is what folks are looking for...

Thank him very much on behalf of the tons of NOLA residents who are monitoring these streams and using them to try and help rescue loved ones. They are looking for NOPD primarily, but the disaster assistance efforts by FEMA and the National Guard are also welcomed. I suspect the federal folks will have encrypted digital communications, but they'll take what they can get.

Word out there is the system is starting to take a dump because the back up generators run on piped in Natural Gas (supposedly they weren't allowed to store gas on site) and the flow has been starting to have problems to the generator (at the main site)..

Also you may be listening to Orleans parish Sheriff or one of their back up systems..cause NOPD's is a digital system
