US 93.3 GOES COMMERCIAL......LY?

Forgive me if this is old news...but it is hard staying up with things when you no longer live in the market...

I was just driving around US 93.3's cheap-looking website and heard an audio message that said (among other things):

"[US 93.3] played no commercials for six months"

Is the gimmick finally over?

Have they started playing spots yet?

How much money were they really losing not playing any commercials?

Not sure if spots have begun airing yet or not. A station has to have something unique they're known for: great morning show, better music, biggest contests. Not playing commercials is unique and something a station could be known for...but who amongst us thought that would last? The commercial-free months would have been a fantastic time to, perhaps, be building some other compelling images. They didn't. So, once commercials air they're just another station...one that used to be known for not playing commercials...but now they do. Nothing unique. Nothing compelling.
