US Open Tennis Championship

Why is KTBU-55 carrying CBS's programming?

Is Oprah and the news more important to KHOU than to carry this?

Not that it makes a hill of beans difference to me but just curious if KTBU has started a partnership with KHOU or is this just a one time thing.

Also, how does one of these stations pick an alternate? For instance, two weeks back the Texans final preseason game was shown on KIAH-39?

Thanks

Two weeks back the Texans final preseason game was shown on KIAH-39.

Apparently, ABC-13 was committed to show the 2008 GOP National Convention, where John McCain accepted his nomination to run for President. Therefore, it had to move The Texans' final pre-season game over to KIAH-39.

We had a similar problem in Greensboro: WFMY
elected to run local news at 5 and Andy Griffith
at 5:30, placing the tennis match on its digital
channel. Perhaps KTBU has a duopoly with KHOU
and carries CBS programs pre-empted on Channel 11
(just as WATL Atlanta picks up NBC programs pre-empted
on co-owned WXIA).
