Has anyone been tracking news about Attorney General Eliot Spitzer who has subpoenaed many of the largest U.S. radio conglomerates in his "payola" investigation? He claims major artists and songs got air time because of payoffs by recording companies. The radio companies that have received subpoenas control thousands of stations nationwide, including Clear Channel Communications Inc.,CBS Radio, & Citadel Broadcasting Corp.among others. Two of those named pretty much blanket LR airwaves. It will be interesting to see how this affects LR Radio. So much for the the famous "music consultant" which most companies now use...........stay tuned..........

There doesn't seem to be any news since "Governor" Spitzer alerted the media to his probe a month ago. It's worth noting the AG is seeking civil action, since it would be much more difficult to prove a criminal case.

update, LOL

A new NY1/Newsday poll "shows that Eliot Spitzer's (D) campaign for governor is steamrolling over all of his competition." Spitzer leads William Weld (R), 57% to 16%, and beats John Faso (R), 56% to 16%.

In the Democratic primary, Spitzer crushes Tom Suozzi (D), 60% to 9%. There is no clear leader in the Republican primary with all possible candidates receiving single digit support.
