USB-based mic processors/preamps

I've been looking at purchasing the ART VoiceChannel because it offers a USB-to-PC output. Does anyone have experience with this box, or can anyone make some recommendations for another mic processor that has a USB output?

Moderator, would you mind moving this thread to Engineering Tech Tips? I think my question might do better there. Thanks!

I've own the ART Project Studio series USB preamp. It actually works well.
For radio production it's fine. Trouble free, USB plug & play.

If you're doing national spots using a Neumann, I'd get
something better to bring out that mic.

I use my ART for remote recording.

Can one use the MBox2 with any software? It's essentially just an interface? Is it just plug and play?

Also considering the MBox 3 (not the Mini or Pro).

The M-Audio Fast Track Pro is a good interface and portable as well. Not much in the way of "Processing" but at home I run my Focusrite Platinum Voicemaster Pro through it. On the road I use just the Fast Track and it works great. Very affordable too.

Just got PT9 for Windows and picked up a Mbox2 off eBay. I have a Lexicon Alpha that can do be used for the mobile rig. And/or the Mic Port Pro as well. Which I have and have never opened, lol!
