USB Mic? Does it work at all?

I know I saw a post about this little mic some time ago. Made by Samson I think. Can anyone refresh my memory if it's even close to a mid-grade condenser or dynamic.? It's a great idea and that would mean that it has an INTERNAL audio interface so the on-board (laptop) audio card would not be needed for it. Could be a big help for tight space restrictions. Are there any higher quality mics that do the same thing..USB connectivity?

I don't know about USB mics, but you might try something like this to connect your existing microphone into a USB port. I have no expirience with the converter, but the Adeptec USB mic I saw on newegg is just awful.
