Friday night's USF game on 1250 was riveting. Jim Lighthall is underrated as a play-by-play man. His commentary was so good, I felt like I was watching the game instead of just listening to it. It didn't hurt that it was a close double overtime contest. At one point going into a break he referred to it as a "heavyweight fight". Good stuff.

I wish I could've heard it but I was out of town. Todd Kalas has been the analyst on radio broadcasts the last few years and also does a very good job for a guy who is mostly associated with baseball. Apparently 620 is going to air a handful of USF games this season, so Jim and Todd's great work will get more exposure.

I'd agree that Lighthall is underrated, if I knew his rating.. hah! USF fans are very fortunate to have him doing basketball and football pre/post game hosting. I also enjoy when he gets the opportunity to chime in on 1010's local shows as well. He gives great insight to USF athletics, and when March Madness arrives, he has great analysis of the tournament also. Just thought I'd chime in too..
