using an EMU1212 card on an encoder

We're running a stream with an EMU1212 soundcard on the encoder, which has some pretty amazing features. Right now, we're running an older outboard multiband processor and using the filtering and limiting functions on the soundcard.

It seems like it should be possible to do it all on the EMU, using a VST preset. Has anyone ever used a VST preset with the EMU1212 soundcard to provide processing for an internet stream (lower bitrate)? It seems like it should be possible, if not confusing, to setup. I'm posting this on the streaming board too.
