Using Musicgen with Audiovault

I know this question has been posted several times, but I'm wondering...with the high cost of Selector, is is possible to run an Audiovault with Musicgen? I have a copy of that program. I don't really relish the thought of hand entering every single song into it, but if I do then that's what I have to do. Can't afford the big boy anymore, at least for now. Anyone have thoughts...tips, suggestions...

Will audiovault export a text file with the file number/title/artist/length/and cue info? If so then that can be imported to MusicGen under the Utilities tab. From there you should be able use the tab delineation feature to set up your database. Just make sure after your logs are created that your exported data is in the proper format for the automation system.

I'm not familiar with AV but have done this (a while ago) with BSI and of course with NEXGEN 101 or whatever it's called now (Gangstah 101?).

Actually, you want to go the other way.

First schedule in MusicGen, export a text file and import it with AVScheduler. Then merge in your commercial log and export to AV.

Actually, the last poster was correct. What I am attempting to do is set up the MusicGen export to be used with avscheduler. Anyone have any experience in doing this?

Yes, but it's been so long, I forgot. It involved getting AV on the phone, and mostly error and trial. As I recall, one of the problems importing to AV involved getting the hour markers to tell AV what hour it should go in.

Call AV support and ask for Greg or "Harley." Good luck!
