The word is that Mix 102.5 had a MONSTER book going 3.2-6.9 overall and actually beating FROG in key demos.Weren"t the 'ladies" at Regent telling the world how Mix would bomb?.Can any of the Utica experts verify this ratings jump by Mix?

Is anyone really surprised? Clear out the deadwood, fix the years of bad programming, tune up the imaging, and you'll get results...kudos to those responsible. I understand the people in charge are showing their appreciation with some incredible new studios that blow away anything else in the market.

My condolences to the wannabes and has-beens that saw their sad little dreams crushed by the same numbers...they should probably have another "charity" event to get revenue up. It looks like their bright, shiny new drive ended with a horrific crash. So sad...try again.

I've been listening to the new Mix 102.5 since it's debut after the holidays. While it sounds considerably more polished than the Clear Channel version of "Mix", I have to admit I miss the music mix that Linda Rae was programming before the holidays. On the other hand, I think the new Mix is going to do well at going after Lite. Listening to Lite just makes everyone feel old.

I have seen Chiahead and what you say is true MIX with a 6.9! Not surprising as it is very professionally executed. In contrast Keeler's station with it's potluck table scraps approach didn't even crack a 2!!

Is this Arbitron or Eastlan? Despite seeing promises that Eastlan would make its P12+ numbers public, I still have yet to actually see them... or furthermore, how Eastlan's numbers compare with the Arbs. It's a shame that Arb embargoes its numbers. I'd love to see the two companies' P12+ findings side-by-side.

It is alway's great to have competition in the market, and I hope Ed does well with MIX. Even though we do not agree on everything, I have always had total respect for him. He has always treated me and my clients with respect, and is willing to go above and beyond to help clients get results.

Getting to the numbers...I just got back from vacation, so I have not looked at them yet, however, my question would be...Does this book really reflect the NEW MIX? I believe this book has nothing to do with the new MIX format and because of that, it makes it a bit more difficult to use those numbers as a buying tool.

Remember, about 40% of the Fall book was taken when Clear Channel owned it and Linda Rae was programming an entirely different music mix. The other 60% of the book was taken when Galaxy owned it and was playing 24/7 Christmas music. After the holiday's was when the new MIX music mix went into effect and nobody at this point knows if what they are doing and playing is the right choice or not. That will not be known until after the Spring Book. Are they a 6.9 as was pointed out even today, with the new music, or did they get a 6.9 from the old Clear Channel music, or combination of that music coupled with the Christmas music? Many stations spike with holiday music. Did those people stay with MIX, or jump ship? A lot of unknowns at the moment.

I think MIX sounds pretty good, and I hope they do well. I plan to utilize them.
