At least I know where the caps lock is. Seriously, it's good to hear WEBK is diversifying their playlist. But I don't see anything wrong with applauding and admiring the days of local programming, local live DJs and more music variety. I like a broad range of music and formats, and stations like WEBK were a big part of inspiring me to get into radio, because they were both broadcasters AND music enthusiasts.
By the way, it still works for KHUM in Northern California. #1 25-54 doing a DJ driven format very similar to the old K105, but local for their area and culture. Their sister station, an EQX style modern rocker incorporating local bands, is second in the market. Ken, if you honestly think live, local, and musically good are incompatible with making a profit, I'm sorry. But I believe it can be done. I don't understand your negativity about people being fans of a more eclectic radio station.
And it's obvious that WEBK's programming staff is diversifying the music and adding in things like the classic EQX style tracks. It's been ages since I heard Masters of War or Cold Turkey on terrestrial FM, so it sounds to me like things may be looking up at 105.3. Which is a positive thing that I'm glad to hear.
