Be realistic. Given the competition in Pittsburgh, WRRK was the only station on the entire dial that presented anything even a little bit different. Sample tune-ins from the curious alone would account for some of their success. When all of the other stations in town are playing the same old boring crap they've been playing for years, anything would seem like a breath of fresh air. If WRRK can sustain any sort of position, then I'll be impressed. In the land of blind men, the one-eyed man is king.

Ok i have seen the numbers. And it's great for bobfm and not for k-rock.:(

Congats SCM! Let's hope that this BOB can buck the trend that is troubling BOB in Austin. In about a year's time, they've lost about 1/3rd of their audience. Hearing "Rock Lobster" every now & then is nice. But, even train wrecks clear the tracks after a while. Well, they can declare a "mission accomplished" by dragging audence away from WSHH, Star, 3WS and their very own sister, WLTJ.Can someone PLEASE get me a gun to put K-Rock out of its misery? Can O & A opt out? Do they know how bad K-Rock sucks?KD's gonna lose their sports audience as FOX gained and 1250 stayed over a 2.When will Frank, Gerald & Kirby realize there ISN'T strength in numbers where the country battle's concerned?'DVE didn't just gain thanks to the Steelers. They'll play the full-length classic rock.No wonder Alan Cox has such a sour look all of the time. And don't tell Lynn Cullen that she's even with Dickie Scaife.....that just might bring Pittsburgh's next radio meltdown.PONDER THIS FOR THE SPRING BOOK (Late July): What effect will Rush's Rx problem have on 104.7? Will the re-vamped IC Lite Sports save sports on KD? Or will Gene be allowed to spew liberal talk leading into McIntire? Any suggestions on how 'DVE can gain.....Froggy to close the gap on Y108.....and I just might put up a tote board & take bets on when Infinity finally DOES pull the plug on K-Rock.

Who cares how much dve can gain. It's ok. I hope not i like krock it's better than the x and dve combined.

Bob gained because of it's "New and improved" feel that it gives the audience. It has drug away some people, but this format has never maintained it's ratings in other cities. The biggest thing they did to help themselves was ALOT of TV promotion, billboards and other media to help their cause. Guess sthat stuff pays off after all, I havn't seen anyone else do it lately and it shows.

Word-FM has beaten K-Rock in the ratings! Alleluia! ;DO&A is K-Rock's last chance for survival. If they can't save the station, nothing will.

Then K-Rock is doomed. If I didn't read the posts in here, I wouldn't know that Opie and Anthony were replacing Roth. As others have pointed out in here, O & A are targeted at a specific demographic. And that particular demographic isn't noted for reading newspapers at all, and even if they do, they don't follow the TV/Radio column the way radio professionals and aficionados do. So, about the only people who actually heard the O & A show on K-Rock are the handful of disappointed David Lee Roth fans who tuned in to hear Diamond Dave. Those who might actually like his show are probably listening to Jim and Randy. Or they've popped a CD into the player.

I agree as O & A were not advertised on TV, and I have yet to see any billboards about O & A. I rarely read the newspaper anymore as you could find most of your news on the internet.K ROCK's ratings as said before are the worst ratings that CBS Radio has had in Pittsburgh. It's gonna take a heck of a lot for O & A to bring them up. Even with Howard Stern's last year on the radio, K ROCK's ratings were starting to slip.

I just don't know how people can like DVE it just not my taste i just don't like it.

I just hope k-rock stays on forever.:)

The only way K ROCK will stay on forever is much better ratings. If they continue to be under 2.0 with O & A on, I see CBS Radio pulling the plug on K ROCK.

They need to show ads on tv for the new morning show and put them on boards around pittsburgh. Thats the only way they can move the rating up hopefully.:)

You know what i think todd. I don't think opie and anthony will save the show. So it will die soon i have that feeling unless they add music to the list. And keep up the great work bobfm. Hey radioEnginer will you please add metalica songs Nothing else matters,Entersandman and Turn the page?

I've spoken too much about K-Rock already, so let's move on to the talk wars. WPTT may be up slightly, but multiplying nothing still gets you nothing. I am convinced that is the worst talk station I have ever heard. Hello! The old WTAE died 10 years ago, yet they are doing nothing but recycling old hosts from that era. Is it only a matter of time before Phil Musick has his phone ringing from Renda? Furthermore, the programming is weak. I have often said how Cullen and Hoerth are way past their prime. Maybe you want to keep them on because to fire them before retirement is cruel. Okay. So the purpose of WPTT is, evidently, to show that radio is not a cold-hearted business. Yeah, right. But this is a station with no morning show. Clark Howard doesn't even begin to approach Dave Ramsey- they run two shows that 104.7 does at the same time- and their best show- Alan Colmes- can only be heard in McKeesport when it's on!And they are now promoting themselves as a liberal alternative to 104.7. Okay- fine- not a bad strategy- though like I said overnights and Matt Drudge are carried on 104.7. BUT THEN YOU ADD MONICA CROWLEY!?!?!?!?!?!Actually, Crowley is the only reason I'm making this post as she is the only thing I ever listen to on that station. I'm glad she's carried locally. But you can't build around her if she's on once a week- and at tape delay at that. I'm ranting. But even if this station moves to 910 I can't see it significantly improving and if it is moving to 910 then I would want some quality programming to listen to!With KDKA now going the lib talk route- WPTT has to do something. Go back to WXIS and play classic country. Install a "comedy only" format. Go All-Commercials- All-Traffic- All-Polka. Keep Hoerth and Go-All Sinatra.SOMETHING!
