V=Variety?

Have seen where snoman has called this a "JACK-FM" minus the oldies and classic rock.

Saw where the consultant was quoted as saying it's "urban AC with a twist of mainstream AC".

That begs the question....does/will V=Variety?





As I posted earlier, I'm glad to see others throwing their two dollars' worth in (that's two cents after inflation). I, too, was thinking, "This isn't true urban AC." Thank you again for letting me know I've not lost it.

I think it's WAY to early to pass judgement on 99.3

I will say I am dissapointed if it's not a true urban AC. I think there is a huge hole in the market for that format (and rock too)!

I think Reynolds may be working himself into the same type of situation he had with the country format. There was just so much of the country audience out there to get. I think it's the same with AC. Sunny, Breeze, and Mix are already out there. I think if your going to play the AC game you need to focus on an audience that isn't currently being served.

Yeah, you're probably right about it being too early to pass judgement. So far, aside from some of the R&B I've heard, it's not much different than the current AC offerings on the ETX terrestrial radio dial. I heard Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying" and thought to myself, "There's no way this is a true UAC format. Hybrid AC came to mind from what I've heard so far.

Like you, I say time will tell, too.
