Vacherie Stick Stations back up to full power

They are still testing and flipping the transmitters of each station on and off, but I have been receiving 92.3 and 104.1 fairly consistently in Lafayette as of yesterday with no DX enhancement from the east.

They sure are, and it's nice!

I was in Thibodaux yesterday visiting a friend. I left after sunset and just for kicks, I headed up to Vacherie to catch LA-3127 (where the stick is) back to 90. Not only are the two stations back to full power, but I was suprised to see the tower lights were operating properly.

For a while, the system was messed up to the point where only one or two were lit 'round the clock, and at low lumens. Then at some point earlier in 2007, the system was wacked by something. My guess, it was the same thing that might've sent them to low power to begin with. Anyway, the lights on the tower were operating like Christmas chaser lights. The top one lit, followed by the next and the next all the way down the stick, and at lightning-fast speed. lol Never seen anything like that before except on the Entergy towers carrying power lines across the river. Never on a radio or TV stick.

Just thought I'd share that cause I though it was kinda wierd. :p

Ya know, I saw the same thing earlier last year. I have family in Gramercy, not far from River Road. And while on the levee that evening with the kids and nephews, my brother in law pointed it out. I thought it was kind of strange for a broadcast tower to have lights set to operate that way. Darn well had to have well been a glitch in the lights operating system at the time. Its unusual and they were at full brightness at sunset doing that!
