Val on KOMO

I flipped KOMO on in the car tonight and started racking my brain. Who is this anchoring? This voice is so familiar.

At the top of the hour, she said her name. It was Val Stouffer. I don't think I've heard her since KIRO let her go five (?) years ago.

She's been around. I heard her on KPLU and KUOW (I think) not long ago......

She just another example of a top talent let-go by KIRO and snapped up by KOMO. They made it so easy for Fisher!

KIRO literally handed it's ass to KOMO, right down to the "Newsradio" slogan. And KOMO took it and RAN. Today, KIRO just seems so directionless while KOMO just rakes it in.

I wonder if the folks at Eastlake see this now and think "Uh-oh".....

I doubt it. They've slashed their costs, lowered the demo, and basically gotten out of the news business on their own. My questions is: why hasn't KOMO taken advantage of it by doing more than just recycling all of their TV news crime audio? Radio is a different animal, and I think they're missing an opportunity.
