Valentine

Any truth to the rumor that Valentine will be voice tracking mornings in Chicago at Lite FM? They just blew out the morning show today and that's the rumor. How many stations is Valentine on anyway?

It could happen. I think he's part of CC's Premium Choice programming, so it could happen. WLIT has made a few changes. The woman doing mornings was also tracking the afternoon show until recently. Don't think the station does that well. They have the same crappy jingles that were just installed on KOST and that alone is a huge problem.

He'll be doing his Lite 93.9 show live from 5-9 AM (CDT), according to this morning's edition of Tom Taylor's 'Inside Radio' newsletter.

I have no idea how that's going to work; however, Karen Williams, who spent 12 years as Ramsey Lewis's co-host at former Smooth Jazz outlet WNUA, will be handling news, traffic & weather on WLIT.

That will be interesting to see if Valentine gets to Burbank by 3AM to do the 5:00 hour live on WLIT. Do I think the 9:00 hour is going to be done "live" while he's on KBIG? Uh, not gonna happen. It's more likely that all 4 hours are going to be voicetracked.

It's been quite a few years since Melissa Foreman was doing the morning show live on WLIT and then voicetracking PM drive. That was before the Whoopie Goldberg morning show on WLIT. After that bombed, they brought Melissa BACK to WLIT to do mornings again. Sorry to see CC pull this crap on Melissa again..

He's a good dude with a lot of energy and he researches well in focus groups. Let's see if he can handle the extra load without a negative impact on the L.A. numbers.
