VALERIE SMALDONE TODAY 3-14-08, SITTING IN FOR JOAN HAMBURG AT WOR RADIO 7.10AM!

That's is nice to hear that great voice again, she began the show by talking about her career and tough decision she took by not renewing her
contract at Lite FM.

Could this be kind of -audition- for a future position to cover in that show? Valerie sounds very good, and she has the kind of voice you want to hear not just reading -line cards-. And the topic she is addressing right now is interesting since it is about --when you leave your job, for whatever reason and have to start again all over--. But I believe that you are most of the time in control of your future, so in Valerie's case, she is an intelligent, talented and reliable person that after having some weeks to think about her life and what she really wants to be working in on the future, she will come with an intelligent decision after listening all the offers that she might be receiving to try to get her back to radio, maybe on a -talk show- even with CC new owners offering her a good offer on HD radio, or even right there at WOR radio, in the past she was offered to work at that station, so it is up to her, now to decide where she feels comfortable returning back to radio.

I wish you the best Valerie, be strong, we miss you in Europe, yes we were able to listen to you at times, when you worked at Lite, sorry but
I do not like the new voice that is at LITE FM, Ms Smaldone's voice is -something else- a very polished and command of noticing that your voice is your best asset! Her voice is clear, pronunciation excellent, friendly, haunting at times, invites you to want to hear more of that voice, it is
a calming voice too. She can even work in the narration of some books, -as a host. Any company can have her as a great asset, she does deliver!

So go and listen to her, those who really are her friends and wish her the best, this is your chance, spread the news...and I think she is working
too at an Italian American Network on online: http://www.italianamericannetwork.com/ianet/?page=valerie

To all of you take care, have been a long time since I posted, but this, ah Val, is simply -one of the best-!

Re: VALERIE SMALDONE TODAY 3-14-08, SITTING IN FOR JOAN HAMBURG AT WOR RADIO 7.1

Well "wxgirl" for your info.

I must say that her 'delivering' in hosting the show was superb! It was very emotional, in the openning VS introduced herself, (as having worked for LITE FM, in the afternoon shift, the voice that New Yorkers will hear everywhere; then expressing with some nostalgic mood, how she left her job, did not renew her contract to this radio station that was like her -second home- and her reaction when recognizing that her decision of leaving for good LITE FM 'was done', that there was not looking back, just take time to reflect in her life and where she would like to go from this point in her life and in what new ventures to get involved. It was an emotional Valerie, sincere...that engaged me in wating to listen for more.

And oh yes she was well prepared for the challenge of being called in a short time,(identified the radio station, gave the 'time', and at the end of the show her usual "have a great weekend" as she used to do at LITE. Well she did deliver to the audience with an entertaining show having some interviews that added a real content when talking about going through this kind of experience, when you are 'in the road again' and 'your expertise' knowing that it will not be easy to find a new home again, but hey now you are a mature person and a challenge adds energy to your life, that's the way I see life, a road that you must be ready to be familiar with..., since you will have to walk it through from time to time, but life won't be anymore in your mind with sign the negative warning: ''life is difficult'', no...if we are well prepared to face challenges, life can be a 'puppy' not the pitbull many sees it is! Then Val, have a final interview with a member of Chicago band (Danny Seraphine ), very nice to hear from him.You can listen to the program going to this link:

and scroll down for March 14th, 2008, there is Valerie.

Well Ms Valerie Smaldone, NY Radio Voice, did very well, that's the difference from the apprentice and the person with experience and love for the job, that person will give you the best of her career, and ready to go even the 'extra mile'. The two hours of the show went fast, so thanks to WOR for giving this opportunity to Valerie and the audience to enjoy her voice and charisma again... she deserves it, this a very passionate hard working woman.

...............

And tune into WOR Radio next week, March 24 through...and you'll hear Valerie in the 6 to 9 a.m. slot, filling in for Donna Hanover.
