Valley Audio 401 Schematic

I have a Valley Audio model 401 Mic Processor that has no output. I have been trying to work on it, but it is next to impossible without a schematic. I can't find one anywhere. Does anyone have a schematic for this processor? If you could help me out, I would surely appreciate it.

I can't but look at the + and - 15V regulators. They have plastic hardware that eventually breaks and the regulators overheat as they lose contact with their heat sink. That is the good news. The bad news is that after replacing the regulators, the unit still did not work. So I have pitched them when they fail. If you do decide to toss it, there may be a chip in it that a buddy of mine needs...let me know before it hits the dumpster.

don't know if it'll help you, but i have one for the valley 400. it's at the back of the manual.

send me your email if you can use the 400 info

The voltage regulators were the first thing I checked. Also checked all caps with ESR meter. I have signal at the send/return jacks and the pre-amp out jack, but not at the output.

Galaxy audio use to repair these units.call 800-369-7768. shoot me an email,i have the 400 pdf i can send you.May that will help. oldies station (at)aol.com

I just checked my collection of manuals, and I have 2 for the 400 and 3 for the 401. The 400 manuals have schematics, and the 401 manuals don't. Hmmm . . .

Unfortunately, the schematic for the 400 doesn't seem to be close enough. Also, just as an update, Galaxy no longer owns the Valley Audio line. According to Chris at Galaxy, Valley Audio is now owned by PMI Audio. Thanks for checking everyone.

We have had success in the past at fixing Valley 400s and 401s. If anyone has a dead one, send it on, and we'll make it happy again. If we don't, you won't owe us anything.

Fair enough?

And we fix lots of other stuff, too...check our our website.
