Valuation on a FM....

Have a thread at https://www.radiodiscussions.com/th...-county-new-jersey.743211/page-2#post-6507391 , still hoping for an LPFM window to open (and that a translator does not get dropped on one or two open channels that are an option.

From our board and folks that provide funding: Was asked about potentially purchasing an existing EDU or smaller commercial FM that is not part of a cluster.

Any suggestions on how to place a valuation on the above to potentially make an offer?

SP

Contact a station broker. We have a pretty good handle on valuation and on what's potentially for sale. I'd be happy to discuss your situation with you!

So what is the typical fee for services?

Is it flat rate or a percentage of the purchase price?

We have funding to cover the opex for the first three years to give us time to develop underwriting /content without struggling - this cost would be taken out of that budget.

Typically a flat rate to do an appraisal, a percentage of any actual purchase. I'd be happy to discuss specifics off-list... [email protected]
