Consider:

In terms of value for the frequency, in ratio of today's radio economy to market economy, worth is probably at a long-time low, as said frequency value could not sell today at "real world" value, much less the heretofore inflated values of less recent history.

However, in terms of value of the local Zone brand and its implied on-air assets to their place in the local market, the worth could very well be at an all time high (although a comparison, adjusted for worth of the dollar then to now, with the heyday of Kicks 104, would be quite interesting to see).

Of course, the Zone 104.5 is currently one of the better performing stations in the Citadel portfolio right now (unlike those megamarket stations), so you'd have to figure there's going to be an extra premium to get the station above the actual worth.

Have asked for the Nashville raitings ( 25-54) but no one has posted. Have been told the Zone is not as good as it once was and WKDF has been down for some time now so the local cluster might not fetch as much as it once would.

Both are still doing well enough 25-54, the demos that matter. The 25-54 demos are made available to subscribers only, so the majority of us who see those will keep that information in-house.

The Zone in particular has a demo that's almost impossible to track — the corporate big wigs, the bankers, the lawyers, the movers and shakers, the business owners, the company reps, and all those Williamson Countians who are self-employed — they who are making business deals on golf courses — so many of them listen to the Zone. They're all sports nuts, they're PSL / season ticket holders, and they love listening to Frank. Some of them went to school with George. They represent a big money audience that will never be well represented in the ratings, simply because you won't find these people with the time to fill out a diary, or ever squeeze a people meter. I would hope the Zone's sales staff has a profile of this untracked demo they can present to prospective clients, in an effort to show a clearer picture of their audience above and beyond the ratings.

I was SHOCKED when it sold for 6+ MIL back in the 80s!...so, the value of WGFX-FM is anyones guess....in todays market!

Nice spin jet but the "... corporate big wigs, the bankers, the lawyers, the movers and shakers, the business owners, the company reps, and all those Williamson Countians who are self-employed...." should be able to smell this for what it is. Every station puts this kind of info out when they don't have the numbers to back it up and from what I've been told the zone has lost it's edge and does not have the raitings it once did. It has now added ESPN but will it help? Don't know but how much did it help WNSR or The Fan? The Zone had it's best books when the Fan was on the air and has gone down now that the Fan is gone. So did the Fan make the Zone a better station?
