Hey everyone,

Just heard Bruno doing his bit on KNBR and he said "I just get Van Earl Wright fired". Radich even had something to say about it! Is this true? Anyone know anything?

he's prolly talking about the extravaganza getting replaced by mancow in LA. if you look down a few topics, we even discussed bruno's "Victory Tour" a couple of weeks ago.......

I don't think he said he was fired. I was listening this morning and Tony always drops Mancow and Van Earl Wright's names as humor.

Unless he knows something we don't. Even if he was just kidding, it's safe to say the writing is on the wall for that to happen anyways.

Maybe they'll replace Van Hurl with CJ Silas. Why not, it would be par for the course with all the other moves FSR makes, anyways.
______________

I'm sure FSR gave Van Earl a contract of at least a one-year duration. FSR is so cheap, there's no way they're going to cut him loose before his contract expires, and subsequently pay him to do mothing and also pay whatever scrub they find to replace him. And don't blame Van Earl, he can't help the fact that he sucks on the radio. But do blame Fat Asswood, the numbskull who refused to pay Tony Bruno, and hand-picked Van Earl.

>VEW, I think, could be serviceable if he had a worthy second banana. Bitterman Siciliano is a tough listen. And simply does not have the essentials to carry out what he is being asked to do.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU ON ANDREW

I think Van Earl Wright could be a quality morning man, but the pairing of him with Andrew Sisliano is oil and water.

Van Earl Wright gets a lot of bashing on here, but his tastes in sports- college football- NASCAR- merge much better to my tastes- and to FOX's- than NBA friendly Sisliano.

Sisliano is the most annoying national sportscasting figure I can name. The classic geek trying to be cool- and all that happens is he becomes whiny and cynical.

I'm sick of it. I'm sick of the "can't get a date" schtick. I'm sick of the obsession with hip-hop and the brain dead callers- and subjects- that come of his musical "tastes."

Dear God- the guy has HOW BIG OF A FORUM TO DISPLAY HIS TALENTS- and the best play-by-play gig he can get is Las Vegas Arena Football?

I quit listening to the Morning Extravaganza not because of Van Earl Wright but because Andrew's role was increased.

I'm convinced that Van Earl Wright could have heartland appeal- but the talentless Sisliano kills all of it.

they should bring in gooby fulltime along with A.S. and K.F. that might work.

tomcoors66 writes much better than I do. The problem with Bitterman is that his arrogance is not an act. And that arrogance shines through loud and clear, even when he tries to hide it. The problem is, his level of talent does not justify the arrogance. I stand by my original point: VEWright is serviceable...with the proper second banana.

I don't feel that Andrew is that bad, though I'm hard pressed to disagree with you guys on many of your points. As far as VEW, I just cannot stand the guy at all. He does not have an extensive knowledge of sports (which has been obvious many times), but more than that his personality is simply annoying. Football is not called 'PIG' in my world.

Perhaps if VEW was in a different situation I'd be willing to check him out briefly, but I really don't think he is servicable at all- Andrew or no Andrew.
______________

Re: I DON'T TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU ON ANDREW

you know, the people at Fox agree with you on Andrew Bitterman. He still has a job. Perhaps I'm missing something.

Pig

It is a term for football that is catching on.

I recall hearing Henry Cannon- who was once a sports talk show host in Pittsburgh- beginning his show by saying that on that day they were going to talk "wall to wall pig."

I'm not saying I like it. I'm just saying Van Earl Wright isn't the only one using the term.

Van Hurl still has a job too- with virtually no affilates carrying that show anymore. If anything, we can all agree that FSR makes some pretty quirky decisions.

Since we're talking about Bitterman, I haven't really heard the show much in the last few months. Has he gotten worse, or have you just never liked him in the first place? I liked him better when he was paired with Bruno anyways.

I'll grant you one thing- when Andrew fills in for Jim Rome, the show is not very good. He's the wrong guy to fill Romey's shoes. I think that's just more a matter of convenience for Rome since Andrew will volunteer for anything.

All that said, I still don't hate bitterman. He could be much worse.
______________
