Well, I know this much.....Kansas City is a tough market. And not because of the "fierce competition"..........because, frankly, there isn't any!

It's my feeling that KC is rather indifferent when it comes to AM radio. You have to be one talented and/or informative person to make it in KC AM radio. (Several AM talking heads have come and gone in the past few years.) And you can't come in and toss grenades either (so as to get the audience's attention)!---Like the grenade recent-transplant Darla Jaye (KMBZ) lobbed at her audience while back.

I don't know.......KC is a strange town, radio-wise. I wish any radio personality who gets a gig there a lot of luck.............because he or she will most certainly need it! <P ID="signature">______________

KC is not as "different" as you might think. On KMBZ, I hear that Jerry Agar has doubled Russ Johnson's numbers. Darla Jaye also has a decent buzz going.

IMHO, it's that mentality that keeps a lot of the KC radio product mediocre.
