Vancouver's 104FM

Astral recently bought Shore 104 in Vancouver from Shore broadcasting.
Does this mean a name change to Boom?
Or some other new radio station?
I don't think their plan is to leave the station the same.
The Shore staff was already let go.

The general consensus around Vancouver is that it will likely become BOOM 104.3.....the question is when? Even though CHHR wasn't a "specialty station" as defined by the CRTC they did have some "conditions of licence" attached to their initial approval which might be difficult for a Classic Hits station to work around.

Some are suggesting that perhaps those conditions of licence were removed when the sale to Astral was approved back in December. We have no way of checking because the CRTC has yet to issue a public bulletin outlining details of the sale on their website.

I'll keep you guys filled in when I learn more.
