Hi Folks,

At one time this was a nice place for local radio lovers to exchange ideas
and comments related to our business.
It's a shame this board has turned into a place to
personally attack someone.
What makes it all the more disturbing is that the
author of these personal comments remains nameless.

As I commented some time ago, credibility is questioned
when the source is unknown.

Here is one of the comments I refer to, in case you did
not see it.

Vanderheyden may be a "good" radio guy. Buy his people skills need some serious work. Just ask some of the old WSGD people he lied to about not firing them BEFORE they put in the automation. One woman who worked nights, came crying to him asking if he was going to fire her and go to automation at nigh. That she had 2 children to worry about. Vanderheyden lied to her face and said "No! I wouldn't do a thing like that." 2 days later she got the boot and was offered part time. A real 'honey' of a guy, who never wanted to be bothered or concerned with the people who worked for him.

I'll miss those of you who constructively contributed
to this board...

DUKE-
You've obviously ruined somebody's day, but you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs. Any chance of some of the old SGD crew making a comeback?????

Anyone who worked for this guy once...WON'T make that mistake TWICE. WWDL/WICK staff...you have been warned.

Dear Mr. The Duke,
What you say is very true. I was brought up that if you can't say anything nice about a person, don't say anything. I beleive when looking at this board a couple of years ago people were bashing certain radio stations and their staff, no one really cared. By the way pay no attention to my post about Capn Happy LOL!!

Somebody who didnt get what they wanted for Chritmas, chased off a valuable contributor to this forum. Bob's posts represented some much needed wisdom...the absence of which represents the cesspool into which our industry has slid.

Thanks...whoever you are.

I worked with Bob, and I will tell you that he is one of the fairest and most professional broadcasters I ever worked with. Not only he is dedidcated to the trade but he has a great personality and he brings an element of fun to the business.
Hey Jack,
Anyone who worked for this guy (The Duke)...knows your full of it. WWDL/WICK staff...you'll be working with the best.

Very well put! It's unfortunate when childish actions such as some of the posts here recently reflect, begin to drive off respected and legitimate posters on this forum.
Thank you Mark.

And, in a way...they still don't!

Every other post is how station X sucks and they should flip to whatever music that poster likes, someone else gets "inside information" about station Y and how they will flip "within a week", yet another "insider" will post about how certain station staffers have a "wanton disregard" for their employees, and how the only formats that should be allowed on FM radio are dance, rap, hip hop, rhythmic CHR and anything hispanic - as well as all conservative talkers should be arrested and replaced by "progressive" (read: liberal) talk.

There's ALWAYS someone araoundf to pee on your parade. <P ID="signature">______________
